RideW
Montréal · Laval · South Shore

Your commute, a quarter of the price.

Four people already drive that road alone every morning. RideW puts them in one car — the driver gets most of their fuel back, everyone else pays less than a transit pass, and three cars stay parked.

Everyone in the car is better off

Not a slogan — the arithmetic. A 15 km commute costs about $6.00 a trip to run, and RideW splits it four ways.

75%

The driver's fuel, covered

Three seats filled at $1.50 each is $4.50 back on a $6.00 drive you were making anyway. You pay a share, not the whole tank.

$60

A month of getting to work

Three dollars a day, there and back. A monthly pass across the same zones runs past a hundred — and this one comes to your street.

1 t

Of CO₂ each, every year

Six thousand kilometres you do not drive is about a tonne of carbon you do not emit. Four people, one car, three engines off.

Four taps, then it runs itself

The whole point of a standing arrangement is that you stop thinking about it.

  1. Say where you go, and when

Home, work, the days you travel and the time you leave.

  2. Pick a car going your way

See what it costs, how far you walk, and when it arrives.

  3. Take the seat for the whole schedule

Every weekday until the driver's term ends — and they are asked to renew before it does.

  4. Get told when to leave

Not when the car leaves — when you need to stand up and walk, counted from your door to your stop.

$4.50

Gas money, not a wage

A driver collects a share of what the drive costs to run — fuel, tyres, the wear of the kilometres. Never more. The app works the ceiling out from the distance and will not publish a price above it.

That is the difference between covering your commute and running a taxi, and in Québec it is also the line that keeps a carpool a carpool rather than paid transport needing a permit.

Everyone rates everyone

Neither side sees the other's rating until both have written one — so an honest three stars costs you nothing.
